Beach Days…

Just took a well deserved, long overdue vacation to Pensacola, FL. We had a wonderful time. While the weather was hot all week with air temps in the upper 90s and feels like temps toping out near 115, we had an amazing time. Now, unfortunately it’s back to work.

Friday Night Surprise

We were trying to figure out what we wanted to do for dinner, going back and fourth for awhile, finally deciding on Cracker Barrel. When we got there, after finding out there was a 30-45 minute wait (it was already about 7:30 at this point), we opted to go to another restaurant. Dinner goes by as usual, uneventful, little did I know of what was to come.

It started off like any typical Friday. I worked, as usual, it was busy and stressful, partly because we’re typically understaffed Fridays, and it’s always busy, and partly because, well, it’s stressful every day. Despite all that, I managed to get off work on time and was looking forward to a relaxing weekend.

We were getting ready to leave. We just paid the check, I remember Josh giving me the copy of the receipt, then it happened. Next thing I remember, I woke up to find people all around me, someone next to me was on the phone with 911, I really had no concept really of what was going on though, another time jump and I’m on a stretcher getting loaded into an ambulance and taken to the hospital, where I spent the next 6 or 7 hours hooked up to monitors, getting blood drawn and just sitting there.

Luckily, I had an amazing partner who immediately sprang into action, making sure I was ok, sitting there with me in the hospital room (after having to fight to get in there), and waiting for any news. Finally about 1:30 in the morning, the doctor came in, and said we can go, things were OK. They did refer me to a cardiologist, but had no real explanation of what happened. All my labs came back normal, I just for whatever reason passed out. I am better now, I spent the day just relaxing. Thankfully I was gifted another day after having some very scary moments.

Going through all this made me realize I need to take better care of myself, actually see a doctor regularly, eat better, and just be better. Be grateful for every day, you never know when it will be your last

New Domain & Finally…Some updates!!

After 20 years, I will be retiring the bobs-world.net domain, and replacing it with bobcolon.com. Both domains are active now, pointing to the same web space. This long neglected space will finally get more frequent posts, I’ve already added a little more content to my about page, and will be posting more blog posts soon. bobs-world.net will go away when it expires in April 2020.
